Winnipeg, October 13, 2011: Charitable and non-profit organizations in Canada can apply now through Thursday, October 27 for support from the $100,000 FCC Ag Safety Fund to provide agricultural safety training for youth, farm operators, farm workers or farm safety trainers.
Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) are partnering for the second year to provide financial support for safety training programs aimed at keeping farmers, agribusiness operations and employees safe at work.
The fund is intended to help groups deliver agriculture safety training to producers in Canada or provide training for those who will train others in safe agricultural practices.
Programs with a local or provincial scope are eligible to receive a maximum of $10,000. Programs with a national scope are eligible to receive a maximum of $25,000. The amount of funding awarded will be based on budgeted costs of the proposed project.
To receive funding, programs must meet specific criteria and be completed by December 31, 2013.
Only online applications will be accepted, and successful applicants will be notified in early 2012.
Applications will be accepted online now through October 27, 2011
