Winnipeg, MB, November 13, 2024 — The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) announces the departure of Andrea Lear, Chief Executive Officer, after serving the organization since January 2021. During her tenure, Andrea played a pivotal role in advancing CASA’s mission to promote safety and health in agriculture.
Reflecting on her time with CASA, Andrea shares, “It has been an absolute privilege to lead the CASA team and collaborate with such a dedicated and passionate network of partners. Together, we have made meaningful progress in improving safety and health in agriculture, and I am proud of the work we’ve done.”
Andrea, who grew up on a rural Manitoba hobby farm, brought a deep appreciation for the agricultural community to CASA. With over 17 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector, her leadership at CASA was rooted in a commitment to partnership, community, and making a tangible difference in the lives of those working in agriculture.
“We are deeply grateful to Andrea for her leadership, vision, and tireless dedication to CASA’s mission,” says Peter Sykanda, CASA’s Board Chair. “Under her leadership, CASA has made significant strides in advancing agricultural safety, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
CASA is pleased to announce that Dean Anderson, a long-time Board member and committed supporter of CASA’s mission, will step into the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. Dean brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of CASA’s work. The Board is confident that Dean will provide the steady leadership needed as the organization continues to build on its achievements and pursue its goals for the future.
CASA is committed to ensuring that its mission to enhance safety and health in agriculture continues without interruption. The Board will begin the search for a permanent CEO in the coming months.
