Three New Directors Appointed to FarmSafe Foundation Board

August 24, 2016, Winnipeg, Manitoba: The FarmSafe Foundation welcomes three new members to the charity’s Board of Directors.

Jim Feeny, Director of Public Affairs for CN, brings over 35 years of leadership experience in communications, and public and government affairs to the Foundation Board.

Shanna Groeneveld, Communications Manager with Crop Production Services (CPS), has a strong background in agricultural marketing, communications and training.

Todd Klink, Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer with Farm Credit Canada (FCC) brings many years of experience with FCC—a long-time farm safety champion—to the table. Klink replaces Lyndon Carlson on the Foundation Board, who retired as Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer with FCC in December 2015.

Bruce Johnson is the Chair of the FarmSafe Foundation. “Our new Board members add a great complement to our existing governance volunteers. We are so pleased to welcome them to our team as we work to promote farm safety in Canada.”

The FarmSafe Foundation supports the farm safety initiatives of the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA). Through charitable donations, the Foundation supports farm safety education for youth, safety resource development and training, grain safety, and adaptive technology for traumatically injured farmers.

Feeny, Groeneveld and Klink join existing Board members: Bruce Johnson (Chair); Dean Anderson (Vice-Chair) Strategic Advisor, Agriculture with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services; Marcel Hacault (Treasurer and Secretary) Executive Director of the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association; and Nick Fox, President of Prince Rupert Grain Ltd..

The FarmSafe Foundation is led by a Board of Directors composed of a cross-section of the agricultural industry. Board members are appointed by the CASA Board to represent CASA’s charitable wing.

The FarmSafe Foundation is a registered Canadian charity (CR# 84040 4487 RR0001). CASA is a national, non-profit organization promoting farm safety in the agricultural sector.
