Winnipeg, MB, May 19, 2026 – The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) will co-host the upcoming Safety and Health in Agricultural and Rural Populations (SHARP) international symposium, taking place June 16-18, 2026, in Saskatoon.
Hosted by the University of Saskatchewan’s Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health (CCRAH) in collaboration with the International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health (ISASH) and CASA, the symposium brings together a global pool of researchers, innovators, industry leaders, and others committed to advancing health and safety for rural and agricultural populations.
“Progress in agricultural and rural health and safety doesn’t happen in isolation, but rather it grows from shared knowledge, open dialogue, and learning from one another,” says Sandra Miller, CASA’s Executive Director. “CASA is proud to partner with our colleagues at CCRAH and ISASH for this invaluable opportunity to make connections and learn from others across Canada and abroad who are working to enhance safety and well-being in agricultural and rural communities.”
Under the theme “Partnering for Success,” the conference program features a variety of speakers, workshops, networking events, and optional guided tours. Farmer mental health, the positive business impact of farm safety, respiratory exposures, agricultural safety interventions, community engagement, children’s safety, emerging issues, and the global challenge of agricultural health and safety will be among the topics discussed at the conference.
“Collaboration is what enables us to build more resilient and sustainable farming communities,” says Miller. “SHARP provides a unique experience to hear from diverse voices from across the globe offering practical knowledge and ideas that, when turned into action, will help strengthen the safety culture in agriculture to protect farmers, workers, and families.”
